John is a lead consultant for companies and organizations in the tech, health, and tourism sectors in the United States and Canada. In 2007, he led the communications for a high profile fatal aircraft incident that received international media coverage. In 2004, John handled communications for the visit of the Dalai Lama to Canada.
John created a culture changing, profile raising program for AMEC, the global engineering and project management company. The North American initiative has been recognized through several ‘business of the year’ awards and the “PR & Communications Leadership Award”.
John delivers intensive media training to senior executives and communications practitioners in the United States and Canada. The Canadian Institute, which utilizes him when providing executive training, notes that John is their media training forum’s “top rated speaker.”
As Chair of the 2009 Canadian Public Relations Conference, John led a team that transformed the profession’s largest annual event and set a new record for attendance.
He is a Vancouver Board of Trade Leaders of Tomorrow mentor, is a member of a number of boards and committees, and is past president of the Vancouver chapter of the Canadian Public Relations Society.
John studied Public Communication at the American University in Washington, D.C.
Many evenings John can be found beach combing with his family at his home overlooking the Canada-US Peace Arch monument.
